Zeitgeist

I finally got around to watching these two films. Grab them yourself (at no charge) if you’re curious, or at all interested in expanding your mind. If nothing else, to gain different perspective…

I’ve been putting it off for months. I’ve heard others speak of the films, promote it passionately, and knew it’d be something I’d very likely relate to. What’s interesting is that things continue to unfold in my life that relate to these films more than I could have realized. So, it’s cool, and eerie at the same time. But mostly fascinating.

One thing I was certain of is that when I did watch them, it’d stir things up, and most likely in a strongly negative way. However, given the past few years of my life and what I’ve done to uproot a lot of old, inhibiting ways, I’ve found that it’s much easier to have a temperance with these “heavy” and society-shifting ideas. Quite honestly, the overriding feeling I have now after 4 hours of ingesting these films is: “well, duh! I’ve been feeling, saying, figuring these very ideas for a number of years now…”

The second film, Addendum, is one I quiet literally could have written and created myself. A lot of it felt like I had in fact penned the script. That being said, it’s quite a different experience to see and hear concepts, ideas and outright blunt representation coming at you. It’s gratifying in a way to see that there are real projects and real movements ongoing in an effort to take our human experience to the next, and in my opinion most obvious level. That being said, it ain’t no small task. Things are right messed up right now. But even that’s OK because it’s creating that ever-important contrast with which we clarify our next, highest desires in our lives. We know much more easily what we DO want, when we’re finally clear on what we DON’T want.

You look at the world, and it’s amazing. Physically, the planet is mind-boggling in it’s efficiency and expanse. Then you get these human animals muddling about, not entirely hopeless, but quite foolish and terrible at getting along. There comes a time when things are bound to shift because events take place, and consciousness can’t help but nudge us forward.

Surrender Box

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

This is a really great idea. Abraham-Hicks refer to a similar process called “The Magical Creation Box”, which is in essence the latter half of what’s mentioned in this DailyOM. So maybe one should consider doing one of each! A box for worries, and a box for your desires, dreams, aspirations. In both cases, it’s about being clear what the problem or worry is, or what exactly you wish to experience in your life, and then giving it up to the universe to take care of it.

Have you tried this?

Another approach that is often referred to is a “vision board”, similar to the “creation box” in that you put images, phrases and such on a board so it’s in constant view, allowing at least a part of you a regular reminder of where to focus your energy. Worries, concerns and such don’t need to be seen, nor do we need constant reminders. Our minds are good enough in that regard. So use the “surrender box” and get the problems out of mind, so you have more ease with which to pursue your true interests. It’s not about ignoring them, but more about knowing that there can and will be a solution to all of it. -tb

Surrender Box
A Place For Worries and Fears

There are times when our minds become too full. Our to-do lists, worries, plans, and dreams may be so crowded together in our heads that we don’t have room to think. We may believe that we are somehow taking care of our desires and concerns by keeping them at the forefront of our minds. In maintaining our mental hold on every detail, however, we may actually delay the realization of our dreams and the resolution of our worries because we won’t let them go. At times such as these, we may want to use a surrender box.

A surrender box allows us to let go of our worries and desires so the universe can take care of them for us. We write down what we want or need to happen and then place the note into a box. By writing and placing our thoughts in the box, we are taking action and letting the universe know we need help and are willing to surrender our feelings. We give ourselves permission to not concern ourselves with that problem any longer and trust that the universe is taking care of it. You may even want to decorate your box and place it in a special place. Your surrender box is a sacred container for your worries. Not only do you free up space in your mind by letting go of our worries and desires and dropping them into your surrender box, but you are giving your burden over to a higher power. Once we drop our worries and desires into the surrender box, we free our minds so we can be fully present in each moment.

Surrendering our worries and concerns and placing them in the hands of the universe doesn’t mean that we’ve given up or have been defeated. Instead, we are releasing the realization of our desires and the resolution of our worries and no longer concerning ourselves with their outcomes. It’s always fun to go back and pull the slips of paper out of the box once your requests have been granted. And it’s amazing how quickly problems go away and dreams come true when we finally let go and allow a higher power to help us.

Love enormously…

Wednesday, January 5th, 2005

With a mere four letters

the concept, the creation

the utter confusion

it becomes madness unlike anything you know

If you can love

can you be love

if it is love that you seek

will it create for you what you create?

Unleash the problem

release the old holdings

free the mind of shackles

and pass the past into the distance

Bringing it back

solves nothing

Bringing it forward

solves nothing
